Beatrice Mompremier Selected To Join 18U USA Basketball National Team
Team Fowles and Miami High’s highly-touted junior center Beatrice Mompremier has been selected to join the 18U USA Basketball Team! Beatrice joins Sylvia Fowles and Kai James as Miami Suns players to play for the USA Basketball program.
Mompremier earned Gatorade Florida Player of the Year honors this year and Mompremier averaged 14.5 points, 15.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 3.7 blocks per game this season to lead the Miami High Stingarees to a FHSAA Class 8A State Championship. She also earned MVP honors at the state final four and is a first team all-state selection.
When asked about the USA Basketball trials experience, Mompremier had this to say:
usab.com: What did it feel like to hear your name being called out?
I was so happy but also nervous. This is a blessing, and I’m so excited. It’s just a great feeling.
usab.com: How did you feel you performed during trials?
The first day I was very nervous. I don’t think I did very well, but I guess I did.
Iusab.com: n what ways do you feel you will be able to contribute to this team?
A lot of defense, rebounding and just helping out on offense.
usab.com: What does it mean to you to have the chance to represent the United States?
I’m very happy and excited. It’s just an amazing feeling.
