PRINCETON, N.J. – The Ivy League announced its weekly awards on Monday, and the honore for the week ending Feb. 2 went to members of the Yale University Bulldogs and the Columbia University Lions. Yale’s Roxy Barahman took the League’s Player of the Week Honor, and Abbey Hsu of Columbia was named the Rookie of the Week.

For Barahman, the award is hers for the second time in three weeks, while Hsu’s is not only her second in three weeks, but also her third of the season.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Abbey Hsu, Columbia (Fr., G – Parkland, Fla.)

  • Scored 16 points in each of Columbia’s games during the week – a loss against Yale on Friday and a win over Brown on Saturday
  • Was 6-for-12 (50%) from the field against Yale, including 4-for-7 from beyond the arc, and she added four rebounds, three steals, and two assists.
  • Scored 10 of her 16 points on Saturday in the fourth quarter as she helped put away the Bears. She was 4-for-6 in the quarter, and she made one of her two 3-pointers in that span as well.
  • Is averaging 18.5 points per game in League play, which is good for fifth, and she is shooting 45.8 percent from the floor (3rd) and 50 percent from long range (2nd). She has made a league-best 17 triples since the start of the League schedule.
  • Has scored at least 15 points in each of her first four Ivy League contests.
