Suns & FSU Signee Kai James Named McDonald’s All-American

The Miami Suns Youth Organization is proud to announce that  FSU  signee and Dwyer High School (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) star Kai James was named to the East Team for the 2013 McDonald’s High School All-American Game on Thursday afternoon.

The game will be played at the United Center in Chicago on April 3 and air live at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.

ESPNU announced the 12-member East and West teams, which comprise of the consensus 24 best high school basketball seniors in the country.

James is averaging a double-double (10.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per game) this season for Dwyer and had a 29-point, 25-rebound effort on Dec. 28 against Dreher (S.C.) High School.

Kai is a consensus Top-25-ranked recruit and the No. 3 center in the 2013 signing class according to ESPN HoopGurlz. James also won a gold medal with Team USA at the 2012 World U17 Championship in Amsterdam in the summer and was a Florida Association of Basketball Coaches Class 8A All-State selection in 2011-12.

James is the 5th McDonald’s All American to wear the Miami Suns colors, joining Sylvia Fowles(2004), Erlana Larkins(2004), Erica White(2004) and Erika Brown(2005).
